Rogue

Recruited by Raven Darkholme to become one of her Brotherhood, Rogue was brought to the rather impressive looking mansion that acted as the team’s headquarters. On her arrival she was certain she’d seen someone watching from the attic window. That, coupled with Raven’s insistence that there was nothing up there but some noisy mice and the fact that the attic door was kept locked, aroused her curiosity. She broke in, only to discover that the attic was home to a rather remarkable young fellow mutant named…

Rogue bolted, unsure of what to make of him. She demanded answers. Raven explained that, due to his unusual looks, her son wasn’t ready for the outside world, that she locked him away only to protect him. But now she knew he was up there, she knew he was watching her, she knew he was lonely. And though it was against her better judgement, Raven allowed the pair to become friends…

And as she got to know him better, as their friendship began to deepen, she realised that he deserved better than to spend his life locked away. And when Raven was unwilling to discuss the issue, Rogue decided to get her answers as only she could. By touching Raven she absorbed her memories, and was appalled when she discovered that she had very nearly handed her innocent newborn over to a blood thirty mob in order to save her own life.

Raven’s friend, Irene, a mutant with precognitive powers, knew what was going to happen, she had tried to warn Raven, but she wouldn’t listen…

Rogue had decided to take it upon herself to get Michael out of his unfortunate situation. Though he seemed loath to leave the sanctuary of his attic, he followed her. Raven tried to stop them, and after a brief struggle, both she and Rogue lay unconscious. Michael decided to continue with Rogue’s plan of escape and carried her outside where he met his mother’s other recruits. Having no knowledge of him, they saw him as a threat, an agent of their enemy. Michael tried to fight his way through them, but they were trained, he was not. He was thrown aside easily, and landed badly…

He was dying, and he knew it…

Raven had seen it all…and realised that she should have listened to her friend as she met up with Rogue years later…the incident having had a lasting effect on both of them…
