Later, when he’s discussing the dance with Scott and Evan he realised his mistake…how can a blue, furry mutant possible get close enough to dance with somebody? Scott just told him to make up a lie about a phoney skin condition so he can wear gloves…and she’ll be none the wiser…
At the dance, Amanda told Kurt that she knows he doesn’t always look they way he does…that she knew about the face he hides. Kurt tried to dissuade her otherwise, but she just smiled and told him she’ll wait until he’s ready to tell her the truth…
After escaping from the strange occurrences at the dance, involving strange creatures from the dimension that Kurt teleports through, freed by Forge’s experimentations, Amanda confessed to Kurt that she’d liked him for some time, that she’d been shyly watching him from afar, and that she’d seen him become something else and disappear. That was how she knew he could teleport them to safety…
She asked Kurt to show her the real him, but he was naturally reluctant to do so, telling her that she wouldn't like what she saw up close. But Amanda wouldn't be talked out of it. So Kurt gave in, and disengaged his holowatch…
Amanda was intrigued by the creature she saw before her, reaching out to touch his face. She smiled, and told him that blue is her favourite colour…
She then goes for the tried and true method to a man’s heart, through his stomach, offering to buy Kurt some ice cream…he warned her that it’s an offer she might live to regret as they teleport away…happily arm in arm…
