Napp was left to guard the rift between the waking world and the dream world while Snuze went into the waking world in order to locate the two perfect dreamers. This duty led to his capture by Jackle, who in turn, combined the gentle Nightopian with a Hollow (a birdlike Nightmaren), turning him into a Mepian (half Nightopian, half Nightmaren). Now half bad as well as half good, Napp fights alongside NiGHTS, but is in a constant struggle with his Nightmaren side.
